Ganderbal, Dec 30 (KNO): Residents of Ganderbal have raised concerns over the lack of street lighting on the road leading to the District Hospital. The stretch, which extends from the main road to the hospital, approximately 2 kilometers, must get the immediate attention of the authorities so that lights are installed along this crucial route, the locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The absence of street lights on the road to the District Hospital makes it a struggle for residents, especially in the evening hours. “We urgently need lighting to ensure safety for all those traveling this vital route. As evening sets in, the people face significant hardships navigating the poorly lit road, which is essential for both patients and visitors heading to the hospital. With the absence of proper illumination, the road becomes unsafe, especially during late hours,” they said. Raja Parwaiz, while talking with KNO, said, “As the distance from the main road to the District Hospital is approximately 2 kilometers, we demand the Municipal Council to install street lights to make the path safer for patients and the community.” A patient from Ganderbal also said, “I visited the District Hospital yesterday around 10 PM. I was scared due to the darkness and amidst the presence of many stray dogs along the road. They could attack any patient or attendant. We request the DC Ganderbal to look into this matter and direct the Municipal Council to install street lights on the road for the safety of all.” The residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and Municipal Council of Ganderbal to install street lights along the road to ensure the safety and comfort of those traveling to and from the District Hospital. They hoped the authorities will consider their request and take prompt action to address the issue—(KNO)
